UK companies partner to advance vertical farming adoption

Seedleaves & Micro Acres Wales: "This is about creating a new model of hyperlocal food production"

Seedleaves and Micro Acres Wales have announced a partnership to accelerate the adoption of advanced vertical farming systems across Wales. The collaboration brings together two complementary forces: Seedleaves' experience in vertical farming technology and Micro Acres Wales' deep local knowledge and on-the-ground operational experience.

The agreement will have Seedleaves deploy its systems—including InvertiGro's modular indoor growing platforms and Tower Farm aeroponic technology—into key Welsh sectors. Micro Acres Wales will provide support with regional operations, local engagement, and ongoing management, helping to create new jobs and skills in the process.

"We're not here to replace the land—we're here to complement it," said Will Benson, Managing Director of Seedleaves. "This is about creating a new model of hyperlocal food production, where indoor and outdoor growers work together to broaden the range of crops grown in Wales, by Welsh people, for Welsh communities."

The partnership will also enable the expansion of Seedleaves' Urban Growing Club across Wales, providing schools with access to hands-on growing experiences supported by a national learning program. Additionally, Micro Acres Wales will act as a regional partner for the sale and deployment of vertical farming systems across commercial, educational, and community settings.

Chris Graves, Director of Micro Acres Wales, commented: "This partnership is a strong step forward for sustainable food production in Wales. We're proud to bring our local insight and practical knowledge to a wider framework that can deliver impact at scale—from schools to enterprise-level farms."

Together, the two organizations will deliver fully supported vertical farming projects—from technology and strategy through to implementation and operation—offering both economic opportunity and long-term food resilience in Wales.
