"We've built a strong foundation, validated our technology, and proven the demand. Scaling into the U.S. market isn't just an opportunity; it's a necessary next step in our journey to redefine fresh produce," says Dr. Tsipi Shoham, CEO and Co-founder of GreenOnyx, an Israeli startup and producer of water lentils, named Wanna Greens.

'A new standard in fresh produce'
Despite water lentil cultivation not being a common practice, some producers have set their sights on growing the product. Yet, often without strict food safety measures, the product is very sensitive to contamination and quality loss. Traditional greenhouse-grown leafy greens often face contamination risks and have a limited shelf life. Some varieties are dried or processed to extend usability, but in doing so, they lose their freshness entirely, resulting in a product far from the qualities of truly fresh greens, as Tsipi explains.
GreenOnyx developed a fully sealed, sterile, and automated growing environment to grow this exceptionally nutritious plant in its fresh, living form without compromising on safety, quality, or shelf life. This breakthrough enables us to deliver unmatched cleanliness, consistency, and real freshness. "For the first time, this powerful green can be produced fresh, safely, locally, and year-round, exactly as nature intended, but with the reliability and precision of modern technology," says Tsipi.

Quantum farming
GreenOnyx's technology is inspired by nature's quantum units, compact cultivation chambers that scale by multiplying them. Every stage of cultivation, from seeding to harvesting and packaging, is fully automated, ensuring precision and efficiency throughout the process.
This modular approach allows for flexibility in production volumes, making it possible to tailor operations for different markets and local partners. "Our business model is ultimately to sell these farm facilities," Tsipi explains. "But first, we're establishing our facility in the U.S. to demonstrate the unit economics and validate market demand. This will set the stage for ramping up for the mass market and create the staple quality that we are after."
GreenOnyx is ready to share data on its performance, yield, and energy consumption, key metrics highlighting the efficiency of its farming model. "We've achieved incredible values thanks to our quantum-scale approach. Selecting the right crops for indoor farming is critical, and our approach ensures high output with optimized resource use."

An easy addition to any meal
Aiming to position itself as the provider of this solution, GreenOnyx has been introducing its flagship product, WannaGreens, in Israel and is ready to take on the American retail market. Building awareness through strategic partnerships and influencers, Wanna Greens is set to redefine fresh nutrition in the U.S.
Consumer demand for fresh, convenient, and nutrient-dense foods is higher than ever globally. According to Tsipi, over 50% of consumers already understand the importance of eating leafy greens, "they just need a solution that fits their lifestyle." Absorbing the flavors of its surrounding dishes, the product can be easily added to any meal, resulting in a burst of nutrients to every bite. "Consumers find it easier than spinach, healthier than kale, and perfect for adding to meals effortlessly. "With demand already outpacing supply, our focus is on scaling operations to meet market need," she adds.

"Now, with our technology ready to scale, we're preparing to hit the shelves of retail chains in every region where a QFarm is established. Through partnerships with leading food retailers, food service providers, and local distribution networks, GreenOnyx aims to make healthy, effortless nutrition a part of everyday life for everyone."
