Saudi agritech startup secures seed funding

Arable has raised US$2.55 million to promote hydroponic farming in the Kingdom.

The investment round, led by undisclosed investors, included 90% of its funding coming from foreign sources.

The company plans to use the funding in Saudi Arabia to tackle agricultural issues such as groundwater salinization and limited water resources.

Founded in 2024 by Lawrence Ong and Christina Khalife, Arable designs hydroponic systems specifically for Saudi Arabia's environment.

The company claims that 80% of its system's components can be obtained or produced locally.
