US: Building a greenhouse - for the community

Plans are growing to build a community greenhouse in Watertown. Jessica Henry and Juan Heredia with the Community Guardians of Watertown are working to build the 1,800-square-foot greenhouse and one of the potential locations is on VanDuzee Street.

The greenhouse would use aeroponic tower farming, also known as vertical farming, allowing more crops to grow with less water. The two hope to build a sense of community and bring free access to fresh produce.

"We're regular people just trying to do good for our community," said Heredia.

"The community is honestly just coming together on its own and so we're hoping around springtime we can start, but we're waiting on hopefully grants, but we can't apply for grants until we have the location," said Henry.
