CAN: Vertiberry expanding into Montreal

The Agtech Zone has announced the establishment of the very first fully controlled-environment agriculture facility in the heart of its geolocated ecosystem in the L'Assomption RCM.

Vertiberry is setting up in the region, promising a local, sustainable supply of quality strawberries and strawberry seedlings, 12 months a year. This installation is being carried out in collaboration with Taste of the North.

Agriculture for taste and sustainable development
Vertiberry grows pesticide-free strawberries and strawberry plants in a totally controlled environment, reducing its environmental footprint. This initiative, which relies on modern agricultural practices, will create local jobs, stimulate the regional economy, and actively participate in training the next generation of farmers through collaborations with academic institutions.

Olivier Paulus, President and founder of Vertiberry bv said: "We're delighted to launch the Quebec activities and collaborate with Zone Agtech. The climate, access to clean energy, and Quebecers' passion for strawberries make this region an ideal place to develop our project."
