India: Previously banker trains in indoor farming

Ajay Gopinath, previously a banker at Citigroup, departed in 2020 solely to pursue his own endeavors. In 2020, he began cultivating organic microgreens at his residence in Kochi, Kerala. At present, he provides organic microgreens to gyms, hospitals, hotels, and retail customers. In addition to this, he trains farmers throughout India in indoor farming, allowing him to earn approximately Rs 5 lakh each month. In 2017, Ajay Gopinath visited a Bangalore restaurant with his friends for lunch.

There he noticed microgreens on the salad plate, sparking his curiosity to learn more about them. Following this, he began studying microgreens. Ajay mentions that he viewed numerous videos on YouTube to educate himself about microgreen farming. He learned to use tissue paper and newspapers for growing mustard, fenugreek, and moong microgreens, but he wished to gain further knowledge on the subject. Subsequently, Ajay intended to begin growing microgreens in his bedroom. His farming journey began in this very room.
