Nine institutions of the Busan ESG Fund (BEF) announced on the 29th that they held a ceremony at the Busan International Financial Center (BIFC) to celebrate the export of the 9th BEF Smart Farm, which succeeded in overseas expansion through the Global Bridge project to support overseas expansion of social economy companies.
The nine organizations are Korea Southern Power Co., the Korea Technology Guarantee Fund, the Busan Urban Corporation, the Busan Port Authority, the Korea Securities Depository, the Korea Asset Management Corporation, the Korea Housing Finance Corporation, and the Korea Maritime Promotion Corporation.

Smart Farm is an urban agricultural facility that utilizes information and communication technology (ICT) in the entire process of agricultural production, processing, and distribution. Starting with support for the installation of the first store on the subway site in 2021, BEF reached the 9th store, the first overseas expansion case through continuous expansion of smart farm support.
The urban farmer's agricultural company corporation, an overseas company of BEF Smart Farm's 9th store, signed an export contract with a Polish non-profit corporation called Food Bank earlier this month. After shipping from Busan New Port at the end of this month, it will move to Olsutin, Poland, and will be used for the cultivation of leafy vegetables and mushrooms from February 2025.
Choi Joon-young, head of the Win-Win Cooperation Division at Southern Power Co., said, "Through this BEF-Global Bridge project, we have confirmed the results of social purpose companies spreading value through overseas market businesses. We will support more excellent companies in Busan to carry out sustainable businesses that solve social problems on the global stage in the future, so we ask for active participation and interest from various social purpose companies in the region."
