Over 100 participants in Tatau took part in the Aquaponic Entrepreneurship seminar, which was recently held at SK Sungai Bagian.
The participants comprised residents from Rumah Ulen Anak Segaya, Rumah Banyang Anak Rekan, Rumah Abong Anak Medan, Rumah Josip Anak Adam, Rumah Rundi Anak Layau, Rumah Gundi Anak Chunggat, Rumah Enjan Anak Gos, Rumah Dora Anak Lani, as well as teachers, staff and students from SK Sungai Bagian.
Organized by Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Sarawak Campus (UPMKB) through the Community Empowerment Programme@UniMADANI Grant from the Finance Ministry, the event aimed to educate the local community on business opportunities in aquaponics, which combines plant cultivation with fish farming.
According to program director Dr Fatin Hana Naning, UPMKB is committed to empowering the community with useful knowledge and skills, especially in sustainable agriculture.
