"DB Schenker Singapore: Green Fingers
A Journey of Growth and Sustainability
In August 2020, a group of us came together, united by a shared vision: to create something meaningful, something green, right here in our work environment. And so, DB Schenker Green Finger was born, with a mission to bring sustainability, teamwork, and a sense of community into our everyday lives.
On September 30, 2020, we took our first step towards this dream by planting our first seedlings. There was a real excitement in the air as we gathered together, each of us holding a small plant, ready to breathe life into what would soon become our beloved sky garden. It was a modest beginning, but with every seedling we planted, we felt closer, united by this simple yet powerful act.
Over the months and years, our garden evolved into more than just a green space. It became a place where we could unwind, laugh, and feel proud of what we'd built together. This garden brought us fresh produce and, just as importantly, unforgettable memories. It became a part of who we are as a team.
Now, as we look towards the future, we've taken the next big step. On November 11, 2024, our cherished garden has transformed into a state-of-the-art hydroponic farm, a testament to our commitment to sustainability and innovation. With this change, we're setting a new standard, aiming to produce up to 150 kg of fresh vegetables and fruits each month and making a real impact on corporate environmental responsibility.
From that first tiny seed to a thriving hydroponic farm, this journey has been a reflection of our growth—not just as individuals but as a team and a company. Here's to the future of DB Schenker Green Finger, and may it continue to inspire a greener, more sustainable world for all of us," shares Jeong Chang Sub.
