CAN (BC): Cranbrook community welcomes container farm

The first phase of the new urban farm is now underway at Cranbrook's Pop Price Park. The Community Connections Society of Southeast BC (CCSSEBC) is undertaking some construction ahead of a public information session.

"The Cranbrook Urban Farm is part of CCSSEBC's good food program, which is using a hydroponic growing system to grow and help provide the community with fresh leafy greens all year round," said the City of Cranbrook.

Residents can learn more about the future urban farm at the info session planned for Saturday, November 16 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Pop Price Park. Attendees will be able to learn about the facility and meet the team that will operate and manage the new Cranbrook Urban Farm.

"The CCSSEBC entered a License of Occupation with the City for a three-year term, through a Temporary Use Permit which can be renewed once for another three-year term," said the City.
