Cornell University's Center for Regional Economic Advancement (CREA) will hold its two-day Grow-NY Food & Ag Summit. Grow-NY is one of the largest global food and agriculture business competitions on Wednesday, Nov. 6 (8 a.m.-5:30 p.m.) and Thursday, Nov. 7 (8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.).
The event is a symposium of keynote and panel discussions led by food and agriculture leaders; an Ecosystem Expo featuring an array of startups, incubators, economic development agencies, and small business partners; and a live pitch competition, featuring 20 startup teams from around the world.
The Summit will be held in two formats simultaneously: in-person and virtually. Members of the media are invited to attend free of charge by using the promo code MEDIA at this link.
The two-day event showcases food and ag innovations that have the power to address key challenges facing the food industry, such as food waste diversion strategies, sustainable farming, and biomass fermentation. The pitch competition will take place throughout the day, alongside the exciting lineup of symposium sessions. One finalist will ultimately be selected to take home the $1 million grand prize, two teams will each be recognized with $500,000 prizes, and an additional four teams will each receive a $250,000 prize.
The awards ceremony begins at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the State Theatre of Ithaca. A full agenda of activities can be found here.
