Tanja Dworschak-Fleischmann was honored with the SAGAFLOR Award for best concept in the vegetables/herbs/fruit category last week, beating the organic sweet potatoes from Reichenau eG and Bio PLUS+ GmbH which came in second and third. Bioland KräuterGut is the quality market leader for organic potted herbs in southern Germany and, since 2023, with the acquisition of Bio Maintal-Kresse, it is also a quality supplier of microgreens under the new FrankenGreens brand for food retailers.
With its 72 employees, the company produces around 6.5 million organic herb pots and 10 million organic cress pots annually. Bio Maintal-Kresse, together with FrankenGreens, is presenting a new product line with a fresh design and six organic varieties that can be used in the kitchen for much more than just decorating a classic sandwich.
"Our microgreens are rich in vitamins, nutrients and antioxidants. They offer healthy food accents for every meal," says owner Tanja Dworschak-Fleischmann. "With our high production standards and production capacities on 0.75 hectares of greenhouse space and comprehensive marketing channels, we bring the healthy taste experience directly to the consumer's home."

The addition of organic sunflowers, peas and lupins to the range is completely new to the convenience food retail sector. The FrankenGreens product line is aimed at a diverse customer base, including in particular nutrition-conscious people who are looking for healthy food, as well as amateur and professional chefs who value flavorful and fresh ingredients. The target group also includes environmentally and quality-conscious consumers who prefer organic and vegan products, as well as city residents and young families who appreciate fresh, locally produced food.
Around ten million trays per year
"Thanks to our good existing customer relationships in the food wholesale and retail trade and an annual production volume of around ten million trays, there is a high guarantee for the long-term availability of the product range and a continuous further development of the range, while considering the wishes of the market," says Dworschak-Fleischmann.
