Rooftop farm

"Urban farming and fresh food were the order of the day earlier this month on the rooftop of RYOZAN PARK in Otsuka, Tokyo when myself, Richard Mayus, and Matt Peterson ran a workshop covering rooftop & vertical farming, hydroponics, and microgreens.

Attendees learnt how to grow fresh food indoors, in pots & planter boxes, and in tower gardens (hydroponics), and everyone had the chance to taste fresh, Tokyo-grown leaves that were either picked straight off plants or that had been growing in the ground only hours earlier.

Key feedback was that this event would be a perfect corporate team-building activity that combines education, sustainability, and amazing food. Bon appétit (with salad dressing)!, shares Jon Walsh.
