US: Missouri public schools receiving aeroponic towers

Fresh vegetables will soon be provided to students at Nixa Public Schools using aeroponic towers. The food will also be donated monthly to a local pantry in Christian County. The aeroponic towers allow fresh produce to be grown vertically.

Dr. Nicole McCauley is the founder of the McCauley Foundation, a group helping create sustainable projects like the aeroponic farm.

"Aeroponic growing grows 30% more produce three times faster using 2% of the water and 10% of the space," Dr. McCauley said.

She said students will not only eat the produce from the towers but even get to work on the farm every single day. She said its value is immeasurable to the entire Nixa Public School District.
