Co-op to add vertically farmed salad to its UK stores

Unbeleafable, the salad range from the UK-based vertical farm GrowUp, has launched in Co-op. The convenience retailer is now selling the popular mild mixed baby leaves bagged salad across 250 of its stores nationwide.

Will Howard, UK MD and chief commercial officer at GrowUp said: "This (listing) now means that five major supermarket groups are stocking our salad grown in a vertical farm in Kent. With Co-op's large number of local and convenience stores, this new listing will help us bring Unbeleafable to a new demographic of shoppers, who rely on their local Co-op."

Lynn Aldred, Co-op's Buyer, said: "Supporting British farmers and producers is important to us and our member-owners, and we are therefore thrilled to introduce Unbeleafable to our fresh produce offer."
