The 2024 edition of the VertiFarm has come to an end after a three-day show taking place in Dortmund, Germany this week. Combined with the Association for Vertical Farming summit, the show brought together various international players to the summit and, exhibitor floor.

In comparison to last year, the show has seen a decrease in visitors, and exhibitors. Yet, various exhibitors let know that introductions, conversations and follow-ups have been good thus far.

Galen Zhou of Sananbio is seeing massive growth in the Southeast Asian market
Interestingly, there seems to be a focus on algae production at the show, with companies offering new solutions for those producers.
Gerd Hilpmann of Puevit designed their way of growing algae. In their own Algenwerk they sell their product spirulina in its original form, unprocessed.
And just like at any vertical farming event, LED lights are an important topic of discussion. LED suppliers take the opportunity to showcase their offerings, launch new products, and promote technologies like water-cooled lights.
