On 15 acres in the Redlands, just south of Miami, Peter Fedele runs Lion Farms, a zero-waste, 100 percent organic regenerative farm producing nearly a dozen varieties of gourmet mushrooms available for sale and delivery to local homes and restaurants. The farm also produces subtropical fruit including bananas, sugar apples, soursop, and avocados, as well as turmeric, microgreens, organic chicken eggs, aquaponics-raised Nile perch, and New Zealand rabbits.
"We're excited to share our love of organic farming and gourmet mushrooms with the South Florida community," he explains. "Our focus on sustainability, quality, and fast delivery makes us stand out in the industry. Ordering from us means you get locally grown mushrooms delivered within hours of harvest."
Lion Farms mushrooms are cultivated within a 10,000-square-foot controlled environment agricultural building — a state-of-the-art facility providing an environment that optimizes temperature, humidity, lighting, and air quality. Mushroom varieties available include lion's mane, pioppino, blue oyster, chestnut, and black king oyster, among others.
