India: New commercial farm produces 12,000 kg of mushrooms per month

A commercial mushroom farm has been launched in Padampur, Kalika Municipality-2, featuring 12 tunnels equipped with air cooling systems for the production of button mushrooms (Agaricus bisporus).

Mayor Binod Remgi inaugurated the farm, stating that the goal is to make the country self-reliant in mushroom production. The municipality is supporting farmers with technology, grants, seeds, and tools, enabling products to be supplied to cities like Chitwan, Kathmandu, and Makwanpur. Renski Agro Farm, now focusing on button mushrooms, produces up to 24,000 kg in 65 days, harvesting six times a year.
