Direct Air Capture multi-unit configuration launched for greenhouse production

Skytree announces the availability of its modular Skytree Stratus Hub. The launch of the Stratus Hub follows the recently announced decentralized Direct Air Capture (DAC) product Stratus.

The Stratus Hub will serve as a plug-and-play configuration for a wide range of carbon dioxide removal and storage or utilization projects. These projects are for markets such as cement, efuels & chemicals, food & beverage, greenhouses as well as sequestration in empty oil/gas fields or through mineralization in geological formations. The Stratus Hub is optimized for any climate and can be easily deployed at any location, capturing from 10,000 to over 1M tons of CO2 per site annually. The modular architecture of Stratus Hub enables phased deployment, supporting any projects to scale up as and when their CO2 requirements grow.

"The availability of the Skytree Stratus Hub globally gives us the opportunity to bring a first-of-its-kind approach to kick-start volume deployment of DAC systems. Our mass manufacturing allows us to drive down costs through buying power and production automation. Skytree's pipeline of projects for permanent carbon storage includes newly developing sites but also pre-existing industrial sites, leveraging existing piping infrastructure and industrial waste heat to power DAC. In doing so, we can cut down on energy consumption and further drive down costs. We're engineers and scientists at heart, relentlessly innovating to create transformative technologies that tackle the climate crisis." says Skytree CEO Rob van Straten.

This is the latest release in Skytree's portfolio within the past 12 months, following two products focused on revolutionizing CO2 supply for controlled-environment agriculture to support sustainable food production. While most DAC projects for carbon removal and storage around the world are still in their planning phases, Skytree has already deployed its technology over multiple sites, demonstrating an advanced approach to modular and scalable DAC deployment.

Multi-use Direct Air Capture system
Through a strong ecosystem of academic partnerships and co-development agreements with industrial partners, Skytree continuously innovates capture materials, leading to increased unit capture capacity as well as decreased energy consumption. This stimulates cost leadership per ton captured and released, both now and in the future, as units already installed will be progressively upgraded to activate the new releases of the Skytree carbon capture materials.

Skytree's modular standardized Stratus systems can be powered by electricity only or a combination of electricity and thermal heat from geothermal sources or from industrial zones with available lower-grade waste heat. The Stratus CO2 output ranges from 90% to 99.99% pure gas or liquid CO2, serving all needs from industries that need CO2 for their processes or to enable an efficient CO2 storage process. All Stratus units are connected to Skytree Cloud, Skytree's IoT platform, for remote management and insights as well as ensuring uninterrupted operations through sophisticated maintenance services.

Designed for mass production
Skytree is the first DAC company capable of delivering modular direct air capture solutions at scale for phased deployment across the globe. Long-term agreements have been established with key suppliers and manufacturers in both Europe and North America, ensuring Skytree's production capacity is ready to serve a rapidly expanding customer base.

Through the deployment of many Skytree Stratus Hub projects, installing thousands of Stratus modules, Skytree aims to capture at least 10 million tons of CO2 through customer projects in the next few years.
