Chris Holshouser joins Sierra Biological

Chris Holshouser joins Sierra Biological as IPM specialist, effictive from June 10th. Chris Holshouser comes from North Carolina, where he worked for Metrolina Greenhouses Inc as Head Grower for 100 acres of glass greenhouse production. He has worked within the greenhouse industry for over 20 years and has expert knowledge of over 70 species of annuals, perennials, poinsettias, chrysanthemums, and over 1,000 cultivars. Chris has extensive knowledge of manipulating growing environments, environmental control strategies, greenhouse systems management, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) using chemical and biological control strategies, production planning, crop scheduling, and personnel management.

Chris moved over into the Cannabis industry in 2016 primarily for the concept of indoor growing. Since, Chris has developed a unique and original indoor Cannabis program "Floridigm" with specific crop culture techniques and original production strategies. Floridigm not only provides all the necessary growing techniques, growing metrics, and logic, but also includes the operational specifics that support the plant material. By understanding Cannabis as a facultative short-day plant and scheduling likewise, Chris has developed, scheduled, and produced over 100 Cannabis cultivars through the original Cannabis floriculture program. All new cultivars provided plant material for cGMP Cannabis product manufacturing.

Chris has a BS Degree in Biology with a Minor in Horticulture, from Western Carolina University. While in school, Chris focused on plant physiology, crop manipulation thru environmental controls and Integrated Pest Management
