Residents of all regions have the right to collect and sell forest berries and mushrooms to consumer cooperative organizations

In Belarus, procurement of forest berries and mushrooms commences

At a press conference, Oksana Skinder, Head of Procurement and Foreign Economic Activities at Belkoopsoyuz announced that the organization has begun procuring blueberries and chanterelle mushrooms. According to the specialist, the price for blueberries ranges from 1.7 to 2.3 euros depending on the region.

Chanterelles are being purchased from the public at a rate of 1.7 to 2.9 euros per kilogram.

Additionally, Belkoopsoyuz has started procuring new potatoes, priced at 0.4 euros per kilogram. Prices for seasonal products vary. The price for strawberries starts at 0.85 euros (depending on the variety, size, and consumer demand). The cucumber prices start at 0.2 euros.

Commenting on the export of seasonal products, the Belkoopsoyuz representative reminded that Lithuania has completely closed its market to food products from Belarus. Overall, the European market has imposed a 12% customs duty on products from neighbouring Belarus.

"This reduces the competitiveness of Belarusian products in the European market, but our main strategic partner over the past year remains Russia," explained Skinder.
