Ukrainian entrepreneur initiates microgreens venture in Luck

Oksana Cheremisina, a resident of Luck, has recently ventured into the cultivation of microgreens. Formerly employed in a greenhouse alongside her husband and parents, Oksana expanded her horizons by securing a microgrant from the government and hiring two additional workers.

Cheremisina narrated the genesis of her entrepreneurial journey, citing her initial interest sparked by a desire to adopt healthier dietary habits. This curiosity led her to experiment with microgreens cultivation after observing their benefits.

During a temporary relocation prompted by war, Cheremisina's greenhouse was left unattended for ten days, losing all produce. However, amidst supply shortages exacerbated by the crisis, local supermarkets reached out to Oksana for microgreens, reigniting her market presence.

Cheremisina elaborated on the cultivation process, noting variations in growth periods and environmental requirements for different plant varieties. With the government grant, improvements such as the installation of air conditioning were made to the greenhouse, and additional staff were hired to support operations.

In addition to microgreens, Cheremisina's venture encompasses the cultivation of edible flowers and the production of nutrient-rich juice. Over three years, her efforts have resulted in the sowing of over two tons of seeds and the successful growth of 15 plant varieties.
