Verdegreens urban farm to open restaurant, bar concept in the Heights

Verdegreens urban farm is planning to open its own farm-to-table eatery and bar concept in the fall, owners said.

Located in the Heights, Verdegreens co-owner Billy Trainor said the team will open a restaurant called Farmstand and a bar named after one of his late aunt's sayings—Good God, Nadine's.

"The intent when we started the farm in 2016 was to start a restaurant," Trainor said. "I'm a restaurateur, my partner is a chef. We're not ones to do anything halfway, so we're opening two [concepts] in the same location."

The space where the restaurant and bar will open are in the locations of Chatters Cafe and Bistro and Darwin's Pub, respectively.

Kyle Wiebe, who makes up the other half of Verdegreens ownership, is working to develop a menu for the upcoming restaurant, Trainor said.
