Australia: Grow towers installed at college for fresh herbs and leafy greens

"We are thrilled to be helping to inspire and educate the next generation of farmers. This week, the InvertiGro team installed our latest InvertiWall at Barker College in Sydney," the InvertiGro team shares.

The custom-finished wall is now growing a range of fresh herbs and leafy greens in the Barker College Senior School Hub Dining Commons, providing hands-on opportunities for students to learn about leading Australia AgTech innovations whilst also delivering zero-food miles and pesticide-free fresh produce to flavor dishes served in the dining room.

"It is exciting to see schools like Barker College leading the way in agriculture education: embracing Australian AgTech innovation and sustainability from grassroots to deliver invaluable lessons in the possibilities for the future of farming and more sustainable food systems. A huge thank you to Scott Graham and the Barker College Agriculture team for their support and foresight," the team adds.

The Barker College InvertiWall is not InvertiGro's only in-school farm installation; The Southport School on Queensland's Gold Coast has five InvertiCube's in their AgEd facility, providing their students with hands-on opportunities to grow and experiment with a range of fresh produce and variables.

These in-school installations provide opportunities to bring a wide range of school subjects to life, encompassing agriculture, earth and environmental science, food tech, engineering, biology, and more.

InvertiGro also partners with other educational institutions, from primary schools through to universities, to promote innovation in education and further horticulture research.
