The province of North Holland is supporting the establishment of a research center for daylight-free cultivation by Green Simplicity, as indicated by the province's responses regarding changes to the boundaries of the Grootslag glass area in the environmental ordinance.
Despite new construction plans, the current rules at Grootslag do not permit such projects, as only greenhouse horticulture companies are allowed within the greenhouse concentration area. Since the new construction requires a greenhouse and cannot take place in an industrial estate, converting the plot on the area's edge into an agriculturally related function makes the establishment of Green Simplicity possible.
In May of this year, GreenV acquired 100 percent of the shares of Green Simplicity, joining other prominent horticultural companies such as Stolze and Prins Groep under the GreenV umbrella.
