Today, the first official day of the Agritechnica, is in full swing in Hannover, Germany. It's one of the biggest fairs for agricultural machinery. A new part of the show is Inhouse Farming - Feed & Food Show, DLG's new platform for the agricultural and food systems of the future. Of course, that includes greenhouses and vertical farms, as well as algae farming, insect breeding, and value crops.
"Global food security through new agricultural production systems is one of the central tasks of the future. In the context of climate change, resource and production efficiency, as well as advancing digitalization, intelligent strategies for sustainable, technology-based food production are being developed. Modern agriculture plays a pioneering role here - from raw material suppliers to producers", the organizers of the show explained.
More concretely, Kuno Jacobs, an international partner of DLG, can take us along the way. "Spirulina smoothies, cutting-edge robotics, vertical farming systems, and inspiring expert talks created a positive vibe on the first day of Inhouse Farming," he says.
Sunday and Monday, the preview days were held, which is a tradition for the trade show. They are intended primarily for dealers from the agricultural machinery sector, top investors, and the trade press.
Arjen Janmaat talked about CEA growing and Ridder's activities to the Dutch Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, Mr. Piet Adema, Landwirtschaftsministerin Mrs. Miriam Staudte from Niedersachsen and the Minister Frau Silke Gorißen from Nordrhein-Westphalen. Ridder is present at the Netherlands Smart Farming Pavilion.
Würth Elektronik and Agile Solutions are teaming up for the shown and unveil the result of their collaboration: a multi-channel luminiere powered by Würth Elektronik's Horticulture-LEDs, integrated into an algae reactor. "This innovation combines electronic and electromechanical components with forward-thinking agricultural technology," says Alexander Gerfer.
The participation of 15 Dutch companies showcases a wide array of innovative solutions for smart farming. These include pixel farming, precision weeding through mobile robotics, optical sorting, drone technology, and more.
For other visitors, the event started today, 2023, and finishes on November 18, 2023.
