Most fluorescent tubes are now banned from sale in the UK & Europe, with the rest due to be phased out soon.

The latest phase of this transition sees us bid farewell to the trusted fluorescent tubes, with most falling foul of the ban as we’ve navigated 2023, and the rest soon to follow.
Plan for change
Many growth chambers and controlled environment facilities across the UK and Europe still happily bask in the steady glow of fluorescent tubes. It’s crucial for all organizations to check their light sources and plan the switch to LED, ensuring that research and commercial programs don’t face disruptions due to unscheduled downtime.
LEDs can be up to 80% more efficient than fluorescent tubes and are more readily recycled.
