ICA Kvantum Emporia and Swegreen have entered into an agreement to offer locally grown and sustainable leafy vegetables and herbs to their customers just in time for summer. In May 2023, Swegreen will install an in-store farm at ICA Kvantum Emporia in Malmö, which will enable customers to buy fresh, locally grown lettuce, leafy greens, herbs and spices grown directly in the store.
The installation in the store is to begin during the first weeks of May. The capacity of this unit, called SAGA, is about 3,500 plants per month, and the shop makes its first harvest at the end of May.
"We are delighted to partner with ICA Kvantum Emporia where we bring our store cultivation technology to their fantastic store," says Pierre Mohlin, CEO of Swegreen. "Our goal is to make sustainable and locally grown vegetables available in more places, and this partnership is a significant step in achieving this in southern Sweden and Scania."
ICA Kvantum Emporia is a leading food chain in Malmö, with a commitment to sustainability, and environmental and social responsibility. Located at Emporia, one of Europe's most prestigious shopping centers in Hyllie Malmö, with many awards in its back pocket, ICA Kvantum Emporia has a very international atmosphere at a shopping center at the forefront.
"It is exciting to collaborate with Swegreen to offer fresh and sustainable crops that are grown directly in the store to our customers," says ICA Kvantum Emporia's trader, Johanna Isaksson. "This collaboration fits perfectly with our commitment to sustainability, and we look forward to exploring new ways to make our store even more active and offer an attractive shopping experience to our visitors."
