LettUs Grow:

UK: First container farm placed at University campus in Bristol

The first DROP & GROW container, supplied by UK-based LettUs Grow, has found its new home at the University of West England in Bristol.

The DROP & GROW container is being run by The Greener Greens Co. and is situated at the University of West England in Bristol. The container farm is placed within their Frenchay campus. The Greener Greens Co. is a local fresh produce delivery company. They’ll be providing fresh produce to the people and food outlets at the university.

Access to local fresh produce
The container is the first aeroponic container farm placed at a university. The Greener Greens Co. got in touch with LettUs Grow about their plans and as a result, LettUs Grow provided the aeroponics container farm. In aeroponics, the roots have greater access to oxygen, which results in healthier plant rootstock and faster crop growth rates.

The LettUs Grow team hand over the DROP & GROW to The Greener Greens Co.

The farm is to provide fresh, healthy produce to the university that has been grown sustainably and close to the consumer. DROP & GROW is optimized to grow produce such as leafy greens, salad crops, herbs and microgreens. Growers can also access around 30 different crop recipes by using LettUs Grow’s software platform, Ostara. Container farms are a great way to reconnect people with food and allow them to know exactly where their food has come from.

“We’re really excited to watch the benefits of a container farm serving this community, whilst continuing to support the Greener Greens Co. and follow their progress,” says LettUs Grow.
